His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Abdullah Sultan Nasser Al-Amri, UAE Ambassador in France, received the UIM F2 World and Continental Powerboat Championships delegation at the UAE embassy premises in Paris.

The delegation included Mr. Abdul Salam Fairooz, International F2 powerboat promoter Formula World Sports, and Gabby Bechara Chamat, CEO of Venture Communications, who took part of the press conference, held in Paris, along with a number of senior officials from the embassy.

During the visit, Ambassador Dr. Al Amri guaranteed that the UAE embassy will assure that all needs of the UAE citizens are met to accomplish their goals especially if it’s related to promoting the UAE. Mr. Fairouz also presented a detailed explanation including the objectives of the championship, list of countries hosting and list of competing participants. The delegation then presented a memorial gift as a token of appreciation to his Excellency and the UAE embassy in France.

Ambassador Dr. Al Amri hailed the central role the UAE Government is playing in supporting the different occasions within the country and abroad, which will help present the developed image of the country and encourage national human resources to achieve more accomplishments such as the announcement of the UIM F2 World and Continental Powerboat Championships in Paris. His Excellency added that such conferences and events help in stimulating cultural and trade exchanges between countries and introducing local and international initiatives to the world.

On the other hand Mr. Fairouz added: “I would like to extend my gratitude to His Excellency Ambassador Dr Abdullah Sultan Nasser Al-Amri for the ongoing support we are receiving. This endless support has contributed to the success of the international press conference held in Paris for announcing the UIM F2 World and Continental Powerboat Championships. The embassy has rest assure to receive the delegation as well as attending the conference to give us a moral boost which will help the UAE nationals achieve more and more accomplishments.”

He added: "During Paris Conference, we made sure to announce the identity of the world championships 2009 and call upon other countries to host this championship in upcoming years as well as presenting the future plan to the international media. The conference was attended by Frenchman Philippe Tour, Champion and Winner of France Race & Classified as number three worldwide. We have also held several meetings with key international media organizations, as we are seeking to sign with a number of European TV stations to promote the event throughout the world."

Mr. Fariouz also expressed his gratitude to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its support and facilitation presented to the delegation through coordinating with the UAE Embassy in France. He also extended his regard to the French Embassy and Consulate which have played a key role in finalizing the necessary procedures.
