Abu Dhabi Securities Market (ADSM) has recently launched its new web site: www.adsm.ae in a move to improve services provided particularly to ADSM customers and to boost communication with all groups of society. This step comes within the framework of ADSM efforts to raise the level of disclosure and transparency in terms of publication of information and data to all investors and to enable investors to analyze the trend of ADSM and listed companies and take better-informed investment decisions.

Mr. Khalfan Al Mazroui, the Manager of the IT Department, said that: "ADSM is investing in IT technology and keeping pace with developments in international financial markets in the field of services and support.

An objective in the design of new website was facilitating the access of information and displaying main services and data on the home page. As an example the "Market Watch" can be customized in term of the design, and the listed companies names and type of information can specified for the convenience of the site visitor. Moreover, the quality and quantity of information available was improved compared to the previous site including news, disclosures, financial reports, trade history data, charts center and company insider trades. In addition, many new services were added such as the quick quotes service, where the site visitor can specify his relation to ADSM and the site will then provide a list of links that satisfy his needs.

The visitor gets many additional features if he signs up as a member, where he may obtain trading reports for a previous date or subscribe to the "Alert Center" service. This feature allows members to receive a SMS or email on security prices, as well as any changes, in accordance with the options specified by member. All investor application forms were provided in the site and are completed online then printed and sent by fax to the Clearing, Settlement and Depository Department.

The new website has linked the Market Watch screen to the disclosure, insider trades and news screen to improve transparency and equality. This service enables investors to be aware of the latest developments and events that affect securities prices, and at the same time monitor immediate price changes. Consequently, the investor can determine the reasons behind a change of demand or supply of the listed securities. Since ADSM is aware of the importance of time when taking investment decisions, and in order to facilitate the procedures, it has activated the linkage to the investor's portfolio immediately after registration. This enables the investor to monitor the securities he holds, the orders he has entered into the trading system, as well as his previous trades, and trading commissions debited from his account.

The new site was designed to enable companies listed on the market to update their details and directly disclose any price sensitive information thus informing investors of the latest updates related to such companies. This service will be launched soon after training listed companies staff on how to use it. Furthermore, a database of financial reports on public companies is provided allowing immediate access to financial statements of listed companies for the previous years and since inception.

In a unique step by ADSM, details of brokerage companies violating the rules and regulations were published on ADSM new website. Also, brokerage companies are able now to register in the website and review all the reports concerning their customers, trades and trade commissions. The market also provides information on the locations of licensed brokerage companies.
