Abu Dhabi Securities Market (ADSM) and Damascus Stock Exchange signed Today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in The headquarters of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Damascus the capital of Syria., Under the auspices of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Aldredri Deputy Prime Minister of Syrian Economic Affairs.
The MOU was signed by Mr. Rashed Al Baloushi Deputy Director General of ADSM, and Dr. Ahmed Rateb Shallah, , Chairman of Damascus Stock Exchange The signing ceremony was attended by:
- HE Yusuf Mohamed artillery Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus
- HE Hamad Abdullah Al-Shamsi board member of Abu Dhabi Securities Market
- Mr. Hashim Qaysih adviser in the Office of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
- Dr. Mohammed Al-Emadi Chairperson of the Commission of the financial markets in Syria
HE Ambassador Mohammed Yusuf artillery statement on this occasion in which he expressed satisfaction with the steady development of relations witnessed by the bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly particularly in the areas of trade, economic, financial, investment, and expressed the hope that contribute memorandum that was signed today in the process of strengthening this cooperation in the interests of sides.
Dr. Shallah, Chairman of Damascus Stock, praised that Abu Dhabi Securities Market which is a well managed market and during short period of time with a good reputation as a leading market among other exchanges in the region. That comes through the implantation the best practiced and using the latest technology and he also praised the constructive cooperation of the two Exchanges through the initiative sponsored by ADSM to provide the Syrian Brokers with the valuable information through training courses for the benefit of the financial services companies and the employees of Damascus market.
Hoping that this fruitful Contribution to the development of regulation, procedures and applying of best practices in disclosure and information technology will play an important role in encouraging mutual investment and exchange of information according to the best practices.
HE Hamad Abdullah Al-Shamsi board member of Abu Dhabi Securities Market that the Abu Dhabi Securities may assume market leading position in the region and become a care center in the use of the best global standards thanks to the overall strategy adopted by the market management at the super vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE may God preserve him, follow-up and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
For his part, told Mr. Rashed Al Baloushi Deputy Director General of ADSM that the agreement came out as result of the keen desire of the two markets to increase the prospect of joint cooperation and strategic partnership to regulate listing, trading , clearing and settlement of securities, in both markets.
Hooping that theirs step contribute to opening new doors for ADSM towards enhancing his position in the region through providing his full support to other financial markets.
