Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Emaar Properties in a move to strengthen the existing relationship between the two entities.

According to the agreement, the two firms will exchange know-how, expertise and information on projects of mutual interest.
The agreement, signed by RTA chairman Mattar Al Tayar and Ahmed Thani Al Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar, sets out to strengthen partnership efforts “in order to achieve the vision of Dubai Government to make the city of Dubai a centre of finance, business and tourism in the region,” according to a statement.

It also claims to boost common efforts to “improve operational efficiency, simplify procedures, develop customer services and sustain communication & links between the two parties” the statement continued.

According to Al Tayer it follows a previous agreement with Emaar to fund, design and construct the Burj Dubai Metro station to serve real estate projects undertaken by Emaar.

Al Matrooshi said “The importance of the agreement stems from the massive role played by the RTA in developing infrastructure projects in the emirate of Dubai.” Emaar will work with the RTA “ in a way that will serve the drive of the RTA and at the same time ensure easy access for the residents of Emaar projects and its integrated residential complexes” he added.
