P&T wins MEP role on rotating tower

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer

Hong-Kong firm Palmer and Turner Architects (P&T) will co-ordinate the structural and MEP design on a 30-storey rotating tower planned for Dubai’s City of Arabia development.

The 30-storey Time Residences was designed by UK architect Glenn Howells Architects. The Dubai Property Ring development will revolve by 360° over a period of seven days utilising the power of solar panels in a fully integrated energy efficient MEP services design.
Specialist engineering firm Bennett Associates, under the leadership of M.D. Nick Cooper, will be responsible for designing the technology that will enable the building to rotate.

The project will be managed by Dubai’s Kulkarni QS. An MEP contractor has yet to be appointed for the project.
