Japanese firm taken on by Nakheel for monorail job

Nakheel has signed Japan-based Osaka Monorail Company to provide technical support for its US $381 million (AED1.3 billion) monorail project on the Palm Jumeirah. The 5.4km-long transport system is being built by fellow Japanese firm Marubeni Corporation. The mechanical and electrical systems and vehicles are being manufactured by Japan’s Hitachi. The UK’s Mott MacDonald is the project manager.
