District Cooling for Aldar Properties

District cooling company Tabreed and Aldar properties have entered into a joint venture to build 25 new district cooling plants in Abu Dhabi.

The project, known as A&T Cool, will cost US $3billion (AED11 billion) and will provide cooling for all of Aldar's property developments, including Al Raha Gardens, Central Market, and Yas Island. The plants will be capable of producing around 1.5 million tonnes of refrigeration over the next five years.
"Given the climatic conditions of the GCC, all these developments call for massive amounts of cooling. District cooling is an energy efficient and environmentally friendly solution and the technology of the future," said Ron Barrott, ceo, Aldar Properties.
