Dubai Properties unveils latest project

A combination of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences was the design concept of the recently unveiled Jumeirah Beach Residence. The design company, WATG, whose past projects include Emirates Hills Villa Estates, designed the 6 billion AED project which also includes retail and hotel areas.

Iyad Aisaka, design and development director, Dubai Properties said: "WATG developed the design based on the brief which was to include Southern Mediterranean characteristics and Middle Eastern architecture to appeal to a range of buyers."
Neutral is the theme for the interior of the residential development with a beige colour scheme throughout and locally sourced dark wood used for the kitchens, bathrooms and fitted wardrobes. The marble used for the flooring was sourced from Italy and bathrooms have the additional benefit of being able to accommodate more than one person at a time with sliding doors separating the facilities.

A number of upgrades during the building process were introduced including swapping aluminium handles for stainless steel and incorporating mosaic in the flooring and marble in the bathroom.

Mohamed Binbrek, CEO Dubai Properties said: "We considered it difficult to create bespoke design in all of the 6,916 units however penthouse buyers were given the opportunity to chose the fixtures and fittings." The three options available to the penthouse buyers were; elegant, classic or modern, which included a choice of bathrooms, kitchens and paint schemes. Said Aisaka: "The Ferrari of appliances, Gaggenau was used for the appliances and Laufen for the sanitary ware. All of the joinery work was completed on-site to allow for customisation."
