Gulf News reported that the $500 million plant was completed on time in under 30 months. A further 480mw is now available, bringing total capacity to 950mw.
Owned by Al Ezzel Power Company, the plant was co-developed by Gulf Investment Corporation and Suez Energy International and will help meet a growing need for electricty resulting from Bahrain’s rapidly growing economy. The plant is fired with natural gas supplied by the Bahrain Petroleum Company.
