Three make aquatic cut

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer

Three firms have been shortlisted to build the London 2012 aquatics centre, the first major venue for the Olympic Games. Balfour Beatty, Eiffel and Hochtief have been selected to enter the next stage of the competition to win the US $197 million (£100 million) contract, designed by architect Zaha Hadid. The venue will host swimming and diving events and after the Games it will be converted into a 2,500-seat complex with the potential to add in a further 1,000 temporary seats.
