Calling all facilities managers

The Middle East's first dedicated property salary survey conducted by Macdonald & Company will include a section dedicated to facilities management.

"The Gulf FM market is still learning and developing a relevant FM structure which meets its requirements. This guide will assist in educating the FM businesses based here, both established and new. In this respect, I think that this guide will be exceptionally useful and I urge FMs in the market to complete the survey," said Danielle Le Faucheur, senior consultant, Macdonald & Company.
Participants will answer questions related to their current salary in order to benchmark and ensure some kind of salary standard can be introduced.

Le Faucheur explained that because the skilled facilities management sector is still very new in the Middle East, a higher salary is often used as an incentive to bring international candidates to the region.

"The salary survey is extremely important from an FM perspective due to it being such a young market where salary levels within specific roles can often be misjudged. FM clients and candidates will be able to refer to this as a guide to establishing market rates which will prevent future confusion regards salaries in the future," she added.

Closing date for the survey is 31 August 2007.
