I truly share Bharatesh's view as countless people are contributing to the UAE economy through their services. The price being paid by expats is high - not least by staying away from family and one's own culture. The reward for us should be citizenship so that we are motivated to devote the peak periods of our working career to a nation that embraces us in the long run.

This law is badly needed; at the moment homeowners can be held to ransom by developers, who often seem to charge over the odds for their facilities management services or change the rules overnight, with no thought being given to whether this will deter future investors. Bring on the homeowner associations!
