DWTC launches GITEX voice service to help visitors

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has teamed up with voice solution provider Emerging Technologies to launch a special voice portal service for the upcoming ICT show.

The service, which is accessed by dialing 600-5-GITEX, provides visitors and participants with easy access to show timings, stand locations, conference schedules, ticket pricing, travel and accommodation and on-site transportation.
Callers from outside the UAE can dial 00971-600-5-GITEX.

"Our partnership with Emerging Technologies comes in line with our vision of bringing convenient, yet advanced services to our guests at GITEX Technology Week 2007," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general, Dubai World Trade Centre. "The Voice Portal, designed specifically for the event, will help visitors plan more effectively for a productive visit."

The custom-built system, which supports multiple accents and dialects, underwent stringent testing to ensure accurate results, Emerging Technologies said.

"Sophisticated disambiguation techniques interpret the caller's request in as few steps as possible while advanced search and data methodologies tackle massive data sources to deliver the right information for the right request," said Sassine Mazraani, CEO of Emerging Technologies.

GITEX Technology Week runs 8-12 September in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
