Kuwait bourse to cut hours for Ramadan

by Reuters

The Kuwait stock market will shorten trading hours during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, the stock exchange said on Wednesday in a statement on its Web site.

The second-largest Arab bourse will be open from 10:40 a.m. local time (0740 GMT) to 12:45 p.m. (0945 GMT) during the month, which regional astronomers said would likely begin on Sept. 13.
The fast begins at the sighting of the new moon.

Trading usually runs from 0600 GMT to 1030 GMT.
