Exhibiting success
Arabian Property talks to cityscape group director Rohan Marwaha about his plans for the biggest property exhibition in the world.
So, what's new with Cityscape this year?
This year you can expect to meet 45,000 real estate professionals and investors from more than 120 countries, making it not only the biggest, but the most diverse real estate platform in the world.
Cityscape Dubai 2007 will have several new features this year. As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, we have donated more than $100,000 in free exhibition space to charities looking to source investment to build real estate projects like new hospital wings, shelters for the homeless, and others.
One of the key themes of this year's event is the hotel and tourism sector. Given the understandable importance of this sector, Cityscape Dubai 2007 has added the Hotel & Tourism Investment & Development Conference to its successful portfolio of conferences which now includes the World Architecture Congress and the Cityscape Dubai Investment & Development Conference.
Architecture in the emerging world will be honoured at the Cityscape Architectural Review Awards which will take place on the opening evening of the show.
Some 350 entries from emerging countries around the world will compete for the awards, which are now recognised as the most prestigious awards in the region. Eminent architects make up the judging panel and pick the eventual winners.
We will also host the Cityscape Golf Tournament, which will be held a day before the exhibition opening and will be for CEOs of top development and investment companies.
Have you received more interest than 2006?
Yes, in fact phenomenally more. This is due in part to the brand gaining extensive exposure through the other platforms we have launched in Asia, China, India and South America.
Who are big players attending the 2007 event?
Certainly every major player in the Middle East real estate market is present. The key factor for success of this event is to ensure that the international investors and real estate professionals grow every year.
