Business as usual at Al Raha

Abu Dhabi's Al Raha Beach Hotel is lapping up surplus demand for MICE-related accommodation in the UAE capital.

Director of sales and marketing Virginie Collin said the percentage of guests staying at the hotel for MICE travel had steadily increased since it opened its doors in January 2005.
"For 2008 we are targeting for 25% to 35 % of this segment," she told MIME. "There is more demand and we are now getting requests on a weekly basis, so we are very positive about the future."

Facilities at Al Raha include the Abu Dhabi Grand Ballroom that can cater to up to 500 guests and four smaller rooms that can accommodate 10 to 30 people.

"VIP guests can also be hosted in one of the five Royal Suites - they present a perfect setting as lunch or dinner venues," said Collin.

"Alternatively, the resort's luxury villas with private security entrances and parking for each villa plus their own private beach, pool and clubhouse are also available."

The hotel's club, Enigma, can also be hired out for corporate parties or events for 100 to 400 guests.

The five-star property is situated 25 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre and 15-minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
