Tatweer invests in ‘FREEJ’ studio

Tatweer has purchased a 30% stake in the animation studio behind the popular FREEJ cartoon.

Lammtara Pictures, based in Dubai, has seen the FREEJ 3D animation series achieve success both in the UAE and across the GCC region. The show has also recently been subtitled to educate non Arabic speaking viewers about the customs and traditions of the UAE.
"Our aim is to support original and unique productions and we look forward to taking this company to a wider audience and lay the foundation for its future growth," said Saeed Al Muntafiq, executive chairman of Tatweer. "We strongly believe in the intellectual property of Lammtara Pictures and the FREEJ brand."

The deal is in line with Tatweer's strategy to invest in home-grown companies whilst also expanding its leisure and entertainment portfolio.
