Dubai-based construction company Simplex Infrastructure has bagged a US $54.4 million (AED200 million) contract for the construction of The Fortunato Development in Dubai's Jumeirah Village.

The client and developer of the project is Al Tajir Real Estate while the Dubai-based lead consultant and architect is U+A.
The project comprises the construction, completion and maintenance of three residential buildings including basements with parking lots.

The first structure will be a G+4 residential building with an estimated built-up area of 32,200m² and will include gardens, a gym and a swimming pool.

The other two will be G+2 residential townhouse buildings with a built-up area of 5,014m².

The construction will also include all services and the permanent power substation along with all exterior work, cladding work and all detailed relevant drawings and specifications, MEP service installations, draining and plumbing and proposed relevant civil works.

The project is expected to be completed within 16 months. Enabling work including shoring and excavation has already begun.

"We won the contract last week," said Ani Ray, country manager for Simplex Infrastructure.

"What drew me to the project was the design which was visually very attractive," Ray added.

"Work on the project has already begun and we aim to complete it by the end of the third quarter of next year. We are also doing the MEP works for the project."
