Almasa names new head of networking business

Almasa has finally found a boss to run its networking division after the departure of DK Roy earlier this year, by appointing Pradeep Angeveetil to the post.

Angeveetil knows the Almasa set-up well having worked for twelve months as the company's regional manager for networking products until 2005. During the last three years he has served in a senior sales and marketing position at security distributor Comguard.
In his new role, Angeveetil will handle a number of commercial and enterprise brands including Avaya, Blue Coat, Juniper, Extreme and HP ProCurve. He will be tasked with growing the company's customer base and overseeing the division's project and financial management.

"This appointment reflects the continued commitment to grow and develop the networking business and to further solidify the company's position as a leading distributor of IT hardware and networking solutions in the MENA region," said the company in a statement.

Almasa claims that it generates 15% of its revenue - around $60m - from its ‘value' business these days.
