Qatar Electricity and Water Corporation (QEWC) is set to launch a number of multi-billion dollar projects, in a bid to meet the country’s surging power and water demands.

The projects include a water desalination project, a power project in Mesaieed Industrial City and the country’s largest power generation and water desalination project, Qatar daily The Peninsula reported on Wednesday.
The largest project planned will be a power generation and water desalination plant owned and operated by Ras Girtas Power Company.

The project will be undertaken with a consortium of partners, the newspaper said, citing a report from Global Investment House.
