55 arrests after suspected 'gay party'
At least 55 people have been arrested following a police bust at an alleged homosexual party in eastern Saudi Arabia.
According to police, drugs and alcohol were found at the farm near Qatif, while two young men were allegedly found wearing women’s makeup and dancing on stage.
Many of those arrested were Filipinos and Pakistanis, Saudi daily Arab News reported on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Philippine Embassy’s labor attaché told the newspaper that some Filipinos have been arrested in that area and "we are trying to help them".
Waqar Ahmed, community welfare attaché at the Pakistan Embassy, told Arab News he had no knowledge about any arrests so far.
"Our workers are normally not involved in such kinds of activities. There is a possibility that some Pakistanis may be working or serving food in the party and then got arrested."

Saudi Arabia is a muslim country and so are the other gulf countries and in our religion, homosexuality is Haram and homosexuals should be punished. We are happy the way we are, why is it bothering you if we're fine with it ??? I wonder !

When will SA accept that in its land all kind of prohibited and immoral things happen? you do not fix your problems by covering up...
gays, so to speak, exist in Saudi Arabia, and we see them abroad seeking partners... so what's new? the beauty of all this is that some of them are rich and powerful!!!

Dear Annlar, Governments are made to earn profits, not respect. If respect was the case USA is one of the most morally degenerated entity.

It shouldn't come as a surprise, since being gay is part of life, our lives, our society, around the world. So SA is certainly not exempt. I see the effort of branding foreigners being the ones..... does the SA truly think they do not have gays among them? Just like the Iran leader vehemently denied his country having gay folks when visiting the US. Of course, he was almost laughed off the stage. Saudis, as in any other culture, engages in all and every kind of extracurriculum activities! It's part of life. Denial is not a river in Egypt. Accepting every facet of life is good and will have its rewards for the people as a whole. Punishing people for their sexual orientation, banning pets (drinking alcohol hiding in the closet, so to speak, while openly denying it) will not get SA the respect of the world. But being honest and accepting will.
