James Law targets Jumeirah
UK-based international construction and property consultancy, Cyril Sweett, has teamed together with James Law Cybertecture to deliver cost consultancy services on two residential towers at Jumeirah Village in Dubai.
The two residential towers, called ‘O Tower’ and ‘J Tower’, reflect the avant garde designs and fluid technology so characteristic of James Law Cybertecture.
“Jumeirah Village is designed with the objective of targeting specific shortfalls in the Dubai property market,” explained Law. “It’s location at the very centre of the emirate means it has excellent access to the older parts of Dubai and the new emerging areas such as Jebel Ali.”
Law’s O Tower is a 42-storey circular residential tower that incorporates an open-plan floor plate that offers column-free spaces, and extends to a full perimeter balcony on the exterior. O Tower also incorporates various environmental design elements, including low carbon structure and cladding systems and a wind turbine at its peak.
J Tower, by comparison, reaches 10 storeys and is enveloped by an intertwined geometric façade consisting of curtain wall and steel trusses. Residential units are serviced directly by private lifts from the ground, with car parking levels that place the emphasis on resident exclusivity. J Tower also offers retail space on the Ground floor, a club house on the 10th floor and a roof terrace with a swimming pool.

The project is currently in the concept design stage, and construction is expected to commence in 2009.
