Qatar poised to introduce new bank notes

The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced it is introducing new bank notes with special features on September 15.

The new bank notes of 5, 10 and 50 riyal denominations will have a value numeral and vertical bars to help the visually impaired recognise the value.
The 50 riyal currency notes will also have special security features. This includes a holographic strip in distinctive shape with Qatar's emblem and the value appearing alternatively when viewed from different angles. The falcon head is also featured in the holograph.
