Hummer road rage trial adjourned again

The trial of the Emirati man charged with the fatal road rage attack on British woman Katherine Wood was adjourned for the second time on Thursday after a police witness failed to appear.

Katherine Wood died in Dubai on May 30, after she was hit by a white Hummer vehicle while out celebrating her birthday in Garhoud.
The driver, aged in his 20's, has been charged with the premeditated murder of Wood, the attempted murder of her husband and damaging public and private property.

The trial has previously heard witness statements alleging the accused drove at Wood, her husband and their two friends as they left a taxi, before reversing his vehicle over Wood, causing fatal injuries.

The accused has denied all charges.

The trial was already adjourned earlier this month when the policeman who attended the scene did not show up to give evidence.

A Dubai court employee told Arabian Business the police witness did not appear again on Wednesday as he is currently on vacation.
