Kuwait's ruler reappoints nephew as prime minister
Kuwait's ruler has reappointed his nephew Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah as prime minister to form a new government after Saturday's parliamentary elections, state news agency KUNA said.
The cabinet resigned in March to avert a request by lawmakers to question Sheikh Nasser, a senior member of the ruling family, after a protracted political crisis that had delayed key economic reforms and virtually paralysed decision-making in the world's fourth-largest oil exporter.
The ruler, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, dissolved parliament in March to end the standoff.
Sheikh Nasser will pick the new ministers in his cabinet and present their names to the Amir for final approval, KUNA reported, citing a decree by the ruler. (Reuters)

So 4 women get elected for the first time....big deal. Given that the number of women eligible to vote is more than males, its astonishing it has taken this long but we all know the reasons why. Are things really going to change ? I doubt it....far to many MP's have still got personal agendas and seem hellbent on preventing progress while they follow these agendas and with Sheikh Nasser still the PM, the same issues and problems will remain. I hope I am wrong but dissolution again in 6 months is my bet and the stalemate will continue The Emir takes control like Sheikh Mohammed does in Dubai.
