CSC picks up RTA contract

China State Company has picked up a contract worth US $163 million (AED 600 million) for the first phase construction of the RTA's parallel roads scheme close to Sheikh Zayed Road. The company fended off competition from Japan's Shimizu Corporation, Turkey's Yuksel and Emirates Road Contracting for the project, which will involve the improvement and development of the parallel roads, which start from Sheikh Rashid Street and end at the border of Abu Dhabi.

The contract also involves the modification and improvement of the parallel highways between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Street.
The RTA also awarded a contract to Yuksel for improvements to the intersection between Al Nahda Street and Beirut Street.
