Another W for Dubai market
Dubai is to make way for a second W property – W Dubai-The Palm.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, the parent company of W Hotels Worldwide, has entered into an agreement with Al Sharq Investment, to build the new luxury property on the Crescent section of The Palm Jumeirah, which will open late 2009.
W Dubai-The Palm will be the W’s second hotel in Dubai and the third in the Middle East, following W Dubai-Festival City and W Doha.
It will boast 400 rooms and suites with beach frontage and views of The Palm, the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline, and, as with the W brand’s existing hotels, it will feature the W signature design elements, creating a “destination within a destination”.
Guests will also enjoy W’s Whatever/Whenever service commitment, the hotel’s 24-hour concierge that can provide whatever guests want (from a pair of running shoes to private jet service), whenever they want it.
Ross Klein, president, W Hotels Worldwide, said W Dubai-The Palm would be “an exciting addition to the brand’s international footprint in the world’s most exciting cities and emerging destinations”.
W Hotels boasts 21 properties internationally, with recent openings in the Maldives, Montreal and Mexico City.
More Ws are planned for Barcelona, Istanbul, Athens, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Koh Samui and Santiago.
