Land Department introduces new registration law

The first residential apartment in Dubai has been registered under a new legal framework introduced by the Government of Dubai Land Department.

Article 23 of the Real Estate Registration Law, issued in March last year covers registration of residential apartments, multi-storey buildings and complexes.
The law is intended to preserve landlord rights by authenticating property ownership.
