Main contract due on The Burlington tower

Dubai-based real estate developer, Deyaar, is expected to award the US $82 million (AED300 million) main construction package this week for The Burlington in Business Bay.

The 35-storey tower will comprise 476 office spaces, ranging from 49.2m2 to 157m2, conference and training rooms ranging from 78m2 to 167.2m2, a 400m2 convention lobby, a shopping arcade spanning an area of 1,835m2, a gym and sporting facilities, a dining area and coffee shop, a business lounge and three floors of basement and podium parking.
Construction on the project is expected to begin as soon as the package is awarded. Earthworks are already underway, while the completion date has been set for December 2009.

Zack Shahin, CEO, Deyaar, said: "We will soon award the main construction contract worth about $82 million to who we think is best suited for the job. Tenders are currently being assessed and the main construction work will begin as soon as the award has been made."

The consultant on the project is Arab Expert Engineering Consultant.

Deyaar has recently awarded Emirates Man Contracting the contract for its Metropolis Tower in Business Bay.

Other awards include the contract for Seef Tower II in Jumeirah Lake Towers to Ascon, Madison Residency on Sheikh Zayed Road to Emirates Man Contracting, and Citadel in Business Bay to Al Shafar General Contracting Company.
