The Dubai Land and Property Department (DLP) has signed a strategic partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in a bid to strengthen existing relations and upgrade its customer service.

The partnership will focus on a number of goals, including the exchange of knowledge and expertise and strengthening communication and partnership efforts in order to realise the vision of the government of Dubai, as well as to facilitate and simplify procedures and work within a legal framework.
Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director, RTA, said it was important to define objectives so that the common interests of both parties could be achieved.

"We have always worked together and it's appropriate to facilitate and simplify the procedures and process of communication. Without coordination from the Dubai Land and Property Department, we cannot function."

It is also hoped that the new partnership will help the RTA with compensation claims, as the DLP specialises in evaluating land prices.

The new agreement should streamline this procedure.

Sultan bin Buti bin Murjen, director general of land and property, said the signing clarifies what has been an ongoing partnership.

"We are signing something that has always been there.

We consider ourselves one team within one government," he added.
