Saraya Islands

Saraya Islands occupies a pristine seven kilometers of natural islands located between the majestic range of Hajjar Mountains and the azure sea of the Arabian Gulf.

Using contemporary technology, it aims to build an iconic representation of Ras Al Khaimah's seafaring heritage. The themed development also aims to enhance Saraya Islands' natural landscape while capturing the essence of Ras Al Khaimah's heritage of navigation.

Saraya Islands capitalizes on the site's main features: its location between the mountain and the sea, and its proximity to Ras Al Khaimah's International airport and the city of Dubai, to offer four unique islands.

Saraya Islands cover an area of approximately 1.2 million sq. mt., of which only around one million will be built upon. The rest will be developed as beaches, landscaped areas, open-air activity areas and circulation space.

The master plan envisions the development of four distinct islands and a mainland village center. The islands are referred to as: Al Boum, Al Marsa, Al Sahab, and Al Wahat, with the most public area in the center and the more exclusive ones to the sides; the mainland village center, Saraya Village, is the gateway to the development.

All four islands are inter-connected through a series of appropriately scaled resort-style roads and bridges. Each of these islands is considered as a gated community for the exclusive use of its residents and Saraya Islands' clients.

The islands are planned to benefit from the double waterfront exposures, with one facing the sea and the other facing the lagoon and overlooking the spectacular Hajjar Mountains. Cars are limited to specific areas on the islands to minimize traffic noise and to ensure an overall atmosphere of serenity. Golf carts, instead of cars, are used for inter- island commuting.

The Gateway
Saraya Village is the gateway to Saraya Islands. It is the mainland component of the project and its transitional hub.

Incorporated into the village is a series of themed souqs and retail outlets offering attractions to the island's visitors and residents. A series of mid-rise residential apartment buildings within the village will benefit from proximity and views to the sea, while offering leisure and entertainment facilities to their tenants. Access to the beach will be secured as well.

The Boulevard
The Boulevard will be a scenic, themed driveway connecting the mainland and the islands. This 2.5km tree-lined avenue terminating at the Saraya Village will be a planned extension of the Emirates Highway, which in turn will connect it to the nearby Ras Al Khaimah airport and to Dubai.

More than just a driveway, The Boulevard will have wide sidewalks on either side punctuated regularly by sculptured tents for shade.

A series of flags, banners and sails will herald the arrival to Saraya Islands, and will create an enclosure to the linear green perspective with the iconic sails of Saraya Islands at its focal point, ensuring the most inspiring arrival experience.
