Qatar to unveil $3.4m, 390kmh sports car

The Arab world’s first high performance luxury sports car will be unveiled at the Doha Exhibition Centre during the third edition of Qatar Motor Show, opening on January 29.

Only seven units of the LykanHypersport 2013 by W Motors have been produced, positioning it as the most exclusive sport car in the world with a price of US$3.4m.

The 750 horsepower car goes up to a maximum speed of 390 kmh, over 100 kmh faster than the take off speed of the world’s largest commercial jet, the Airbus 380. The LykanHypersport 2013 has diamond encrusted LED lights and gold-stitched interior leather seats, a reverse door opening system and other high-level specifications. The first deliveries are scheduled for September 2013.

The car is the result of six years of work of different companies including Magna Steyr Italia, RUF Automobile, Studiotorino, Viotti and ID4MOTION. The majority of these companies are based in Italy, home to some of the most iconic sport cars in history.

Oh look, they put tons of gems on a modest quality car, and charged ten times what it's worth.

It's faster than a passenger jet in takeoff! (yawn)
