Dubai is set to host its first Red Bull Music Academy from April 12 to 15, where more than 30 international and regional artists will partake in events, workshops, parties and an exhibition across a number of venues.

On April 13, dance DJ and creative director The Black Madonna will be joined by electronic music creator Moodymann at On42 at the Media One Hotel alongside Siamak Amidi and Shemroon of Dubai club Analog Room, while world-touring creators of Swede Azel Boman, alumnus of Red Bull Music Academy London 2012 and DeWalta & Shannon will perform at the Steigenberger Hotel on the same day, where they will be joined by house music creators Peggy Gou, Sam Farsio and JC Pinto. Other musicians will include hip hop, bass, dubstep and Jazz artists such as Kode9, Ikonika, DJ Earl and local artist Esserai of 264 Cru.

On Friday, there will be a meditation Sunrise Session on Kite Beach at 6am led by Dubai-based trainer Pierre Ravan followed by musician Julianna Barwick, who relies on her own voice to make music. In addition, a lecture will be held by musician Axel Boman at The Flipside between 2pm and 4pm. A number of parties at Dubai Design District (d3) will be headlined by rapper Earl Sweatshirt alongside hip hop recording artists Danny Brown and Princess Nokia as well as electronic songwriter Jessy Lanza, Stones Throw artist Knxwledge, Dubai-based band Muhaisnah Four and Tunisian beat-smith Aeli.

The event will include a photographic exhibition ‘Beyond the Noise’, starting April 7th at d3, which revolves around the world of “sweat, blood, tears, effort, self-doubt and strength that is present in every musician’s life”.
