The top secret location for the exclusive world premiere of Chanel’s 2014-15 Cruise collection has been revealed as a private island off the coast of Dubai, with the French fashion house set to spend $2.5m on the extravaganza.

While the event is set to be staged in less than four weeks, the exact location had been kept under wraps by organisers. However, a source close to the event told Arabian Business the fashion show will be staged on a private island named Al M.Woszek Rap, which is located off the coast from Dubai’s Jumeriah Beach Park.

With the iconic Karl Lagerfeld himself arriving for the night of the fashion show, Chanel is not holding back at making a grand statement during the May 13 event.

A majestic structure is currently being built on the island, with an allocated budget of around $2.5m.

"Chanel is very pleased to present its 2014-15 Cruise collection in Dubai," Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel said in a statement in February.

"In addition to being a key hub for our fashion business in the Middle East, Dubai was chosen because it inspires travel and evokes the true spirit of Cruise. The show that we will hold in this city on May 13, in the presence of Karl Lagerfeld, will be a unique event that will feed the public's imagination around our brand."

Since 2000, the brand has traveled the world to Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Venice, Saint Tropez, Cap d’Antibes, Versailles, and Singapore, showcasing its inter-seasonal holiday line to a carefully selected group of press, buyers, and celebrities.
