I think you have missed the ease of use aspect. Apparel Group (Nine West etc brands) have the most amazing points system that is linked to your mobile phone no. There are no cards that you have to carry around. When you want to redeem your points they have an immediate impact from your second purchase onward. This is the best system I have seen as we are becoming inundated with membership cards, loyalty systems etc. If they were all linked to your mobile phone no. it would be much easier to use.

Good topic, well done. Just wanted to highlight that there is a difference between Loyalty cards and Discount cards, you have mixed both and forgot some of the best loyalty programs not only in Dubai, but also set the benchmark for Loyalty programs like: Emirates Skywards, AIR MILES, Etihad Guest, ViceVersa....
