But loyalty cards can save you hundreds of dirhams at your favourite shops, restaurants and venues in Dubai. From hotels to cinemas to coffee shops, these 'points-mean-prizes' schemes can make a real difference to your wallet.

I think you have missed the ease of use aspect. Apparel Group (Nine West etc brands) have the most amazing points system that is linked to your mobile phone no. There are no cards that you have to carry around. When you want to redeem your points they have an immediate impact from your second purchase onward. This is the best system I have seen as we are becoming inundated with membership cards, loyalty systems etc. If they were all linked to your mobile phone no. it would be much easier to use.

Dear Editor,
Good topic, well done. Just wanted to highlight that there is a difference between Loyalty cards and Discount cards, you have mixed both and forgot some of the best loyalty programs not only in Dubai, but also set the benchmark for Loyalty programs like: Emirates Skywards, AIR MILES, Etihad Guest, ViceVersa....
