Since the list was launched in 2010, Aramex’s Fadi Ghandour has always occupied the top spot. However, his retirement at the end of last year means we have a new most powerful executive this year.

Also included are a wide range of well-known personalities, comprising senior officials from regional heavyweights to international players.

And of course, as with any such list, it’s important to stress that, while the rankings have been based on events in the past year, the list is very subjective. We accept that readers will have their own views on almost every position, so we apologise in advance to those offended by their inclusion or non-inclusion.
