Call me too enthusiastic (and possibly quite sad), but with only five weeks to go until the first facilities management Middle East Awards, I'm actually counting down the days for the big night to arrive.

For those of you that know me, the pre-event build up has been dominating our conversations since last December simply because I'm so eager to see so many of you together, in one room, being rewarded and recognised for a job well done.

And it's not just myself enthusing over the Awards. When they launched in February 2008, ADNH Compass was the first to support them and the industry by sponsoring the Sustainable Initiative Award.

Since then, another five companies have pledged their support and are looking forward to rewarding your hard work with the prestigious facilities management Middle East Award accolade.

Having seen the industry grow and develop over the past 20 months, I have also witnessed people grow and develop. Friends from within the UK FM sector securing high-end FM positions in this region and those already established here moving upwards and sometimes onwards.

Developers are now starting to involve FM at design stage and the current shift from pure service provision to a more strategic management FM structure, just highlights where the industry in heading.

On the evening of 9 June, I will be proud to witness just some of your achievements that will be highlighted at the facilities management Middle East Awards.

So far, you and your industry have been on rollercoaster ride across the Middle East, aiming to educate people on the benefits behind successful facilities management.

And with deadline for the Awards entries now fixed for Thursday 15 May, why not join the companies who have already entered the Awards and stand up and be proud of what you and/or your company have achieved?

There are only two weeks left to get your presentations together and nominate yourself for one (or more) of this year's facilities management Middle East Awards. So what are you waiting for?
