The body of Saddam Hussein was stabbed half a dozen times after he was executed, the head guard of the former Iraqi dictator's tomb has told the UK's Times newspaper.

The allegation fly in the face of the official version of events, with the Iraqi government claiming that no mutilation took place after Saddam was hanged for crimes against humanity.

Saddam's execution on Dec. 30., 2006 sparked international outrage when it emerged the dictator was taunted by guards as the noose was put around his neck. The latest allegation could cause similar anger.

"There were six stab wounds on his body," Talal Misrab was quoted as saying by the newspaper on Saturday.

Misrab, 45, said around 300 others saw the injuries when the body was buried.

Saddam's tomb lies in a small village called Al-Awja north of the capital Baghdad where the dictator grew up as a child.

Iraq’s security advisor Mowaffak Al-Rubaie denied the allegation.

"I oversaw the whole process from A-Z and Saddam Hussein’s body was not, not stabbed or mutilated and he was not humiliated before execution," Al-Rubaie was quoted as saying.

This clearly shows the hypocrisy of the Americans. Saddam killed the rebels and becomes a monster, but the enemy of the Arab world will be called a hero though he is responsible for the death of more than couple of million Arabs who were innocent and few hundred American who were not so innocent.

Your reader Mike finds it perfectly ok with stab wounds to Saddam's body after his death... ok, agreed. I guess no sound-minded person would support what Saddam did. But, what about the Saddams that emerged after the death of actual Saddam. These multi-Saddams have committed crimes that even the actual Saddam may never have thought about. Doesn't Mike consider this something important to think about?

Compared to the horrors and attrocities this evil man was responsible for, 6 stab wounds to his body after he was already dead is nothing. I am sure his thousands of victims would have echoed this sentiment had they been given the chance to live instead of dying the gruesome, painful death most of them suffered.
