Singapore Airlines will upgrade its planes serving Abu Dhabi to offer its Gulf customers better facilities and in-flight entertainment from March 29.

The carrier announced on Tuesday that the daily service will now be served by an Aibus A330-300 instead of a Boeing 777.

All passengers will have access to a personal iPod and iPhone connection on their seats as well as additional leg room, a statement by the airline said.

From March 28 Singapore Airlines will also begin A330-300 services from Singapore to Jeddah and Kuwait, via Abu Dhabi.

“The introduction of this new aircraft on this route provides us the opportunity to enhance our product offerings for customers from the region,” Richard Lee, Singapore Airlines’ general manager Gulf, said.

The new A330-300 planes have 30 business class seats and 255 in economy class.

Singapore Airlines currently has nine A330-300 planes, with another 10 due to be delivered by the end of this year.
