The past meets the future with Lomar Thobe’s cutting-edge designs. Loai Nassem and his wife Mona Al Haddad set out to revolutionise the traditional attire upon his return from his graphic design studies in the US.

“I was bored of wearing the same thobe everyday. Wearing western clothes, I was used to changing styles, but I still loved the traditional thobes,” he confessed.  Now his label features an extensive line-up of modern-day concepts fused with traditional elegance.

Nassem went a step further in his venture to “rephrase the vocabulary of a thobe” by employing Christophe Beaufay as the head of his design department. Beaufay is Jean Paul Gaultier’s protégé and the first western designer to design for this niche industry.

Lomar Thobe also provides a customisation service where the thobe is made according the individual’s needs for a perfect sartorial fit. Outlets can be found in Jeddah and Riyadh, but the brand also has a slick and user-friendly website where we can be updated with all the latest trends.
