The Mandarin Oriental is known worldwide for Asian glamour. But the newly-refurbished suite in the Landmark property in Hong Kong takes it to another level. At 139-square-metres, it's more akin to one of the city's finest apartments than a hotel room.

Designed by award-winning architect Joyce Wang – who also calls Hong Kong Home – the Apartment Suite features a private entrance leading to an open, airy living area complete with elegant and custom-designed furnishings.

Expect colours tones of gold, brown and blue, along with a three-metre-long curved sofa, matching armchairs and specially commissioned artworks on the walls.

The main space is set for entertaining. A dining area has a cocktail bar and a pantry stocked with gourmet nibbles, while a brass chandelier hangs above a six-seat gesso-finish dining table.

If requested, the hotel will provide a chef to work out of the Gaggenau-fitted kitchen, which sits alongside the dining room. There's a study area, complete with large custom desk, along with a master suite with separate walk-in dressing spaces.

The space can be transformed into a nearly 190-square-metre two-bedroom residence if combined with an adjacent guest room via an interconnecting door.
