UAE confirms Al Isra Wal Miraj holiday for private sector firms

One-day holiday for private and public sector on June 30 to celebrate religious occasion

Private and public sector employees in the UAE will receive a day’s holiday on June 30 to mark the occasion of Al Isra Wal Miraj, the ascension of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

“The official holiday to mark Al Isra Wal Miraj will be on June 30th for all workers in private sector enterprises, institutions and companies in the state,” state news agency WAM reported.

Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami said Tuesday the UAE’s federal ministries and bodies would close to mark the occasion, resuming work on July 3.

Good to hear UAE has made is cumpolsary for all business to practice in respect of Shab-e-Miraj, I hope rest of the Middle East countries should make it Compulsary since its a old practice in Kuwait and Qatar. The KIngdom should announce it aswell.
