The UAE has maintained its perfect record in Group E of qualifying for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) 2015 Asian Cup with a 4-0 win over Hong Kong.

A hat-trick by Ali Mabkhout and a fourth goal by Walid Abbas just seconds before the final whistle sealed the victory which kept the UAE on course for qualification.

Tuesday's win meant the Gulf Cup holders have secured nine points out of nine and put them in pole position  for the Asian Cup finals in Australia.

According to news agency WAM, Mabkhout put the UAE in front in the 29th minute before doubling his side's advantage 10 minutes into the second half.

He then slotted home two minutes from time to hand Hong Kong their first defeat of the qualifiers before Walid Abbas completed the rout.

The UAE team will face Hong Kong and Vietnam at home next month before an away game with Uzbekistan next March.

The UAE only needs to finish in the group's top two to progress to the 2015 Asian Cup.
