The US has denied reports its embassy in Riyadh was shut down over security concerns.
Comments on Arabic social media Sunday suggested the embassy would be closed for two days due to a threat.
The embassy’s press attaché Johann Schmonsees responded on Twitter, saying, “The Embassy was operating as usual”.
Twitter users immediately retweeted the embassy’s denial, with comments including “thank God” and “stop posting rumours”, Saudi Gazette said.
