Higgs and Englert win Nobel prize

The Nobel physics prize has been won by Francois Englert of Belgium and Peter Higgs of Britain for their theory on how the basic blocks of the universe acquire mass. The theory was developed in the 1960s, but it took decades for the theory to be proven.
