Microsoft buys Nokia unit for $7.2bn

Microsoft is set to buy Nokia’s range of smart phones and a portfolio of patents and services in a bid to strengthen its position against Apple and Google. Microsoft will reportedly pay Nokia $7.2bn for the privilege.
