Scores die in temple stampede in India

At least 89 people have been killed in a stampede at a Hindu temple in India. Pilgrims had been fasting for nine days, and thousands went to pay their respects to goddess Durga on the tenth day, but a stampede started when rumours that a bridge was collapsing began.
