$7000 burger sold at auction for charity in Dubai

A burger was sold in Dubai for the highest price on record on Saturday -
AED25,960 ($7,000).

The burger was sold during a 45-minute auction at the “Pink Bite”, a
charity initiative organised by the Friends of Cancer Patients Society as part
of its Pink Caravan Ride awareness raising tour across the seven emirates.

Pink Caravan offers free breast cancer screening tests to more than
3,000 people. It comes to Dubai today (Sunday) and concludes in Abu Dhabi on
Monday.

The Pink Bite charity auction was held at the Galleries Lafayette
department store in The Dubai Mall on Friday to raise funds for the Pink Caravan
Ride.

Charity ambassadors were divided into three teams to
come up with the tastiest and healthiest burgers and sell them at the highest
price. Previously, the most expensive burger in the world was sold for
$5,000 in Las Vegas.

The record-breaking burger was prepared by Pink Caravan ambassador Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Thani, chairman of the Department of Statistics and
Community Development in Sharjah.

Pink Caravan said the auction raised AED72,180 in total, reported Gulf
