Company: Arab Business Women's Council
HH Sheikha Hessa Bint Saad Al Sabah is not just royal, the
Kuwaiti princess is exercising her business brain as the chairwoman of the Arab
Businesswomen’s Council, encouraging women’s involvement in high-profile Gulf
projects like the Dubai Waterfront.
Like her counterparts in Saudi Arabia, Sheikha Hessa is extremely vocal about
women’s empowerment, not just in niche areas such as social media technology,
but in all high ranking areas of business - especially those projects most high
profile, as befitting a princess.
During a 2008 conference she claimed Arab women were being
kept out of the boardroom, despite an increase in the number of female business
owners and executives.
Sheikha Hessa has headed up the Arab Business Women's
Council, an organisation committed to transforming women’s economic roles in
the Arab world, since its inception in September 1999.
