12yo boy dies putting up UAE flag

A 12-year-old Emirati boy died after falling from the roof of his family’s home in Al Ain while putting up a UAE flag to celebrate Flag Day.

Saeed Khalfan Humid Al Naiumi died immediately from a head injury, Gulf News said.

Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, visited the boy's family on Friday to offer condolences.

Sheikh Tahnoun expressed his deep sympathies and prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the soul of the deceased with mercy in Paradise and to grant his family patience and fortitude to bear the loss, according to state news agency WAM.

Saeed was reportedly the fifth eldest of nine siblings.
